Hey, we’re James and Amy 💚💙Husband and wife. Partners in craft. Long-time besties. And now... full-time business buddies, too.
We’ve known each other for a ridiculously long time — 20 years this year, actually 😵💫🤯
(Yes, we’re as surprised as you are. Time flies when you're having... cake?)
We've been together for 17 of those years, and about four years ago, when the world was still very much upside down and we were knee-deep in lockdown with a 6-month-old baby, we made a decision that some might call bonkers:
James joined the business that we now run together!
🎉 From Chaos to Creativity
We weren’t sure what we were doing (who was in 2020, really?), but we did know we needed a spark — something creative, something joyful, something that could grow with our family.
So between nap times, snack times, and all the nappy changes, Studio One48 was born. What started as a little idea to add personalised, engraved and thoughtful [wooden] gifts quickly became something bigger. Something ours.
Over the years, we built this business into something we’re so proud of — and the best bit? We got to do it side by side, from our little studio on the Fylde Coast, with our little ones (human and fur) just a room away. 💛
✨ Why We’re Still Here
Running a small business together definitely has its moments (the less said about those, the better), but here’s what keeps us going:

Creating joy – Whether it’s a welcome to the world newborn card or a wedding cake topper, we love making moments that matter.

Working from home – We never take for granted how lucky we are to spend so much time together, to have the ability of both going to parents evenings and sporting events, and to only need to commute to the top of the stairs!

🔄 A New Chapter: Boldly Whittle
For four years, we were proudly known as Studio One48. But recently, we felt it was time for a change — something that felt more us, more playful, more “Whittle-y.”
So we’re excited (and slightly terrified 😅) to say, just over a month ago: We relaunched as Boldly Whittle.
Same duo. Same heart. New name.
It feels like the next right step in this very wild, very wonderful adventure — and we’re so happy you’re here for it.
